Hiya,
The Sticky Pod that I've been using for a while is about to die, and with a new phone coming along shortly (prob a iphone 13/14 Mini), can anyone recommend me an affordable and quality holder that can take the phone, keys and a few cards etc.
Max budget is about $60 -
Hit me up with your recommendations !!

Ive had a few, problem is every new phone outgrows them. Currently using a Silca Borsa, not cheap but the only thing I could find in the size I needed, been pretty durable but its probably the biggest thing I could fit in a jersey pocket. I saw some on the Pedal Mafia site yesterday that were cheap, 2 different sizes.

I split my phone, cards etc from my tools/CO2/tyre levers pouch, placing the phone in the left jersey pocket and the pouch in the right, leaving the middle pocket for nutrition product. Otherwise, the combination is too heavy and slides to one side, twisting up my jersey.

I can bring you a Zilfer. It is not zippable or waterproof like a pouch but keeps stuff nicely together. Think the iphone 13 and 14 regular sizes will fit… but not with the phone protector and that is where it is then an issue and a hard case is essential for me.

Sounds like a good idea - I'll investigate that option too

Hiya Chris, have a Zilfer sitting there and issue is that I'll be using a case protector on the phone which is what traditionally creates issues.
@lone rider - I'll look at those two options as well, thanks

A couple of additional comments might be of interest. Crashes can happen despite best intentions so I never put anything hard in my centre pocket as that sits over my spine. While the probability is low, the consequences are potentially very high.
As for water resistance, I just use ziplock bags. Maybe not as elegant, but they weigh almost nothing, don't need to be maintained, and when they stop being waterproof they cost cents to replace.

I'm almost in the same boat. For phone, cards and a few keys the Sticky Pod has been great, but I wouldn't want a larger phone than my G6. Even then I have to take it out of the cover to make it fit. Tube and tool pouch is on the bike, so it's just phone and cards in the pocket. Rapha aren't far off the pricing of the others and the larger size seems to be capable:

I resorted to making one just so I could leave the case on the phone. An old nylon sail, the trusty Elna, and a little trial and error. It's not waterproof or padded, but V2 might be if I can get some time and suitable materials.

The Rapha one has been reviewed and recommended in an online review when CT was good.
I have a Sticky Pod now, and that's been good, but the plastic sleeve inside has died, mind you it's a few years old now !!
Cheers, have used a Velopac before, but zip failed after 12 mo.

Ended up going with the Silca Borsa, so thanks.
Yep, not cheap, but decided to treat myself a bit

The phone + case is a smidge too big to fit in.
I can get it in, but it's too tight. So, back it's going.
The frustrating thing is that the sizing is no accurate where listed, as the internal; dimension is the key, and also, for many others, they don't list the size !!??

Probably a wise choice. Im using 6.4 inch phone and it only just fits and with the Borsa being made out of rubber tube material it doesnt have much give, the stitching would likely break if forced. I havent seen many holders much bigger than this and its at the point where its a tight fit to get into a jersey pocket. Phone screen size is now a critical factor when new phone shopping unless I go down the handlebar bag path.

It's been posted back and will get refunded.
It is a nice pouch though, so it was a pity. A key thing is that the phone needs to be easily removeable, so the hunt goes on.

These are not fancy, solid, well made and do fit a iphone 11 with a chunky otterbox commuter case so a 12 or 13 mini with case should be fine.
Have not had my one take in any moisture during this wet year - a good company who make long lasting stuff that can be repaired so worth supporting

I use a Blackburn Outpost top tube bag for my iPhone X, a face mask (when we had to carry them in QLD), my wallet (when required), a couple of allen keys etc & garage door remote in the mesh pocket on top usually (not full). Never water tested it in anger, but it is supposed to be water resistant. It has great straps that keep it rock solid on my Giant Roam 1 and it doesn't get in the way of anything. Top opening so easy to get stuff out without risking a phone hitting the deck.

For interest - my phone etc was in this bag when I had a head-on crash with a Ford Territory SUV last year. The bag was safely attached to the bike and it's contents (incl phone) were unharmed - in spite of the Norco hard tail being a write-off.

Cheers for the last two options, but it needs to fit in a jersey pocket - not wanting a top tube bag, even if it solves the issue - thanks

So, returned the Silva wallet and got the refund from Pushys fine.
Ended up ordering 2 off (a good deal) the Muc Off Rainproof wallets.
13 with a decent case fits fine and has a small zip pouch on one side. Could be a smidge bugger, but otherwise OK.
