11am? If you want to get hold of this stuff (especially the bike stands) you have to be queuing from around 8am - and be prepared to fight!

I had a look at them, but in my size the legs were too long for me - I don't wear plus 4s on a bikeuart wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:21 amI just got two pairs of the bike shorts. These were stunning value at just $25 for the combined inner (padded knicks) and fairly smart looking outer shorts (four pocket design - two velcro closed). Seriously, I would have payed at least three times that amount just for the knicks part at a bike shop, and they have quit good padding that's made in Italy.

Yeah that's a good point. My only complaint is that the leg length (outer shorts) is about 4 to 5 cm longer than what I would prefer. For me this corresponds to them covering about half of my kneecap instead of just above the knee as I'd prefer.find_bruce wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 11:34 amI had a look at them, but in my size the legs were too long for me - I don't wear plus 4s on a bike
Luckily my wife is a keen sewer, so I might be able to persuade her to take them up a few cm. In the mean time they're not too bad and I desperately needed some new padded inners anyway, as my current ones are just about worn to threads. Even if I only used the inners (with various other non padded sports shorts I already have), then these are still good value for me.

Package weights (up to 29 kg in this case) are for OHS purposes and will definitely be an over-estimate of the actual bike weight. Most low end ebikes are up well over 20 kg though. My sister in law bought one from a bike shop for a about $3000 and it's a tad over 26 kg. It's a total dog.stevenaaus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 2:51 pmHmm - dropping a grand on a new bike, you'd think they could find more than 7 speeds.

And an assembly vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jul4weTo5YE
Range 25km. Looks kindof tiny when the boss gets on it. Kudos to them, but you'd want to get it assembled properly.

I'm more interested in the bike work stand. And the missus agrees the Uniden front and rear camera for my car is a good idea. (does that say something?) Wonder if I could butcher the folder to put the e-bits on one of my other bikes?
Still Dreaming.

The bike stand is a tried & tested proposition - plenty of people have used them successfully, me included.Dreams V Reallity wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:02 pmNot range of 25km. Power assistance up to 25km/hr. But the 7.5Ah battery possibly won't give a lot more than 25km.

I'd love to have the skills to convert the folder into something like this
You won't find the parts for an electric conversion cheaper, even if you passed the frame on.
Frankly I am tempted as a shopping trolley. At 24kg the Aldi bike is not something I would want to lug around as a folder - about 7kg heavier than the equivalent brompton, much cheaper though.

Google search on that model camera brings up some pretty crappy reviews. I was thinking about getting one myself until I read themDreams V Reallity wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:02 pm

I noticed that Park Tool now sells a fancier version of the wand by itself :

The Aldi hydration backpacks were only $20 or $30 I think for a 10 or 13L bag (2 slightly different designs), and a 2L bladder. If you only needed one for occasional use they'd be a good option. Chest and waist straps, some reflective tape, friction fit hose fitting and easy to refill threaded cap on the bladder.

Bought the XL helmet and cannot do it up without choking me. Friends have bought the smaller sizes and have no problems.
Maybe Ive got an oversized head? ( Have only got 2 KOM on Strava!)
Ive tried everything with adjustment. Any experience or ideas?

I have a large head (I'm large in "normal" mainline brands). I bought a large aldi helmet. Fits nicely.celeste boy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:12 pmAldi Helmet Blues

The Aldi helmet I bought a few years ago as a backup doesn’t fit me right either. Seems to be shorter front to back, but wider than my other helmet that fits nicely. Maybe my head isn’t round enough.celeste boy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 3:12 pmAldi Helmet Blues

I have taken apart the rolled end near the clip and I can get an extra inch there. I'll need to glue up the ends of the straps now.
Cant believe how many of my friends turn up in the Aldi helmet now. ( Only in twos though!).
