Fingerless Gloves

Postby martinjs » Thu Feb 10, 2011 12:48 pm

Where in the heck can I get a pair of fingerless gloves that won't wear out in less then 6 months?
Any suggestions? Where from and how much, also how long do they last.

Thanks

Martin

Currently tied to my Trek gloves bought for $10 at the last Clarence St sale around 6 months ago.

I've used Peal Izumi Gel Vents for a while now, they have gel pads on the palm side.

Similar to these -

Just buy 2 pairs and alternate them, that way they last 12 months !!! oh wait :?

Seriously, I have the same prob, and I've also found that the type with the join on the side of the wrist are stupidly hard to get on and off. I much prefer those that join on the top of the wrist. My current pair are shimano branded and fine except I think the palms could be better padded.

I been using these Bellwether ones. I was a little sceptical about the brand, but now I'm a fan.

they have been lasting quite well (over 6 months). The little hoops on the ends of the fingers make getting them off easy.

I would highly recommend Roeckl gloves. Very well made and padded. My first pair stayed with me for 3 years. Some of the backing elastic fabric stretched around the knuckles but the rest of the gloves stayed intact with no loose threads. I am on my second pair.

They are available in Australia as I bought it in the city here in Sydney (CBD Cycles). No ideas who carries it near you.

I've been using these Knog gloves for about 15 months.

I've done about 6000km in them and they are not showing any signs of wear. Thay are full leather and have no padding. Once the leather molds to your hands they are super comfy.

As long as you have a good bike fit and don't expect your gloves to soak up road bumps they are excellent.

Only bad point is the on rainy or very sweaty rides the die runs out of the leather and makes my hands go black. Oh, and they don't have the toweling strip on the back of the thumb to wipe sweat (or snot) off your face.

I spent about 78 dollars on a beautiful pair of gloves just last month. I washed them in the washing machine and now they will only fit Barbie.
I am not happy, I bought some body butter and am trying to stretch the leather back, and it almost fits me. :?

I bought these, not sure of the exact model name and its not the right picture although looks similar, bought them 3 years ago for $45 and they had the most amount of gel for that brand. They're still going fine although getting a bit on the stinky side, I've only washed them once  Nothing seems to be tearing & the gel's holding up. I haven't used them excessively as others would've, usually 30min a day until as of recent where I'm doing 90min
