Hello Everyone,
I'm heading to Australia in a couple months and I have about 4 weeks free in July. I wanted to get some suggestions for an appropriate touring route. I really have no idea what to expect in terms of safety of routes, terrain and the weather. So any suggestions of breath-taking scenic routes are welcome!!

Is anyone else planning on/interested in touring at this time?

you are a lucky bugger!...I think I will have to leave Oz so I can come back to see it :D .Sorry I am not much of a tourer so others will have better advice, have you got any ideas what you want to see or how far you want to go?.
Have you done much touring in Canada (while swatting the bugs away).

Aus is a big place, similar to the US.

There's a couple of books on touring Australia available, someone should remember the names of them.

4 weeks isn't a lot of time to ride around, you would need to be very selective on where you rode. Are there any particular things in Australia you wanted to see?

G'day mate,

Welcome aboard.

Where are you landing in Oz? What sort of riding intrests you most? You can choose from wide open plains to cold, wet mountains. If you've got four weeks, choose the style of terrain and spend your time there.

Cheers,
Graeme

I can't post links yet, but you might try www dot biketouringtips dot com which has links to countries all over the world. It has 4 on Australia (one of which is a link to this site!).
