Biggest gear info

Postby lgbran » Sun Feb 21, 2010 1:35 pm

I'm finally getting somewhere re: training. used to be happy doing 25ks a hour on bike.. Now averaging 27-30 ks a hour over 60 -90 ks distance.. For the first time managed to spend some time on the biggest cog and gear. (generally ride on biggest cog).. Will I improve if I manage to keep on the biggest cog and gears?. Cocentrating on riding position, not swaying on bike and trying to have a round pedal stroke. Even in my big geras observed a number of riders fly past on even bigger gears. I eventually want to crack over 30 ks a hour consistantly.. All my riding is done solo.. Averaging 200 - 350 ks a week

You need to be able to peddle a gear, before you can push it. This can only happen with fitness and training. Just worry about what you are doing, with your training and not what others are doing, because they most likely have more fitness than you. :)

What is your biggest gear? Mountain bike or road bike?
