Has anyone had any experience with the Tailfin Pannier Rack and Bags
My commute has increased in length from around 10km each way to over 20 km, and I dislike carrying my laptop in my backpack (unfortunately I do need to bring laptop home each day).

What I particularly like is the mounting system where it can mount to their replacement through axle. Although one of my bikes has rack mounts (the Bossi), I am more inclined to use a different bike (Specialized Roubaix) for the commute as I am wary of the security at the new workplace. Also I would like to do some backpacking in the future on the specialized.

What I dont particularly like is the $$$ - but without dedicated rack mounts on the frame, all the other racks I have seen require ugly, clumsy brackets clamping onto rear or chain stay

I am also not sure of the value of the Tailfin panniers as opposed to say Ortleib ones

I am not a user because (a) I have Ortliebs and (b) the price of everything Tailfin I have looked at. That said Bikepacking.com seems positive on their gear. It might also be worth poking around their site for other options.

There are loads of racks that clamp onto axles. Tubus make plenty, and have through axle adapters

If a frame does not have attachment point for the rack stays, it is often possible to use a seatpost adaptor. That may well not be compatible with the Roubaix though
