Hi everyone!
I am rebuilding a mid-80s Europa road frame. I plan to use it for casual rides and relatively short commutes 10km). Need to decide on pedals. I personally do not like straps, and clipless pedals would probably be an overkill (?)
Are there any good options for pedals that would go well?
What do you usually use on your retro build?
Regards,
Mik

I'm not so sure, yes retro might be important, but wouldn't usability and practicality be the deciding choice in something as fundamental as the pedals?
I find clipless pedals and cleats practical for commute riding - they feel a lot more secure especially if I need to put down a lot of power quickly.
Up to you if that's more important than keeping the retro style, you pays your money and you makes your choice.

SPD. Retro or not, they're walkable and reliable. Flats are fine too.
Or go true to the era and get some Look PP66 delta pedals and enjoy the best clipless pedals known to man (at the time).

Velo Orange is a good place to start for the retro look

G-boaf and Family Guy make valid points. What are you going to use the bike for should govern your choice. You can always swap the pedals if you are taking it to a retro show to please the judges.
Meanwhile you can get the 'almost retro' look and SPD utility by using SPD/Flat pedals like these:
