Thanks for this issue report. Not a feature I use (no foes..... ) so will have to dive into this; was it changed in the latest software, have the settings been adjusted in the software, is there a bug or incompatibility on this end...

Thanks also for the topic of financing... has been on my mind and it is likely that the member who contribute the most (info) are also the ones most likely to support... while the guests and one-off visitors who benefit the most from the info are less likely. It is human nature though I have not yet found a better answer.

I can edit posts on mobile.

I had to login (new phone, so no surprise) but if I navigate away or close BNA, I have to log in again, even if Chrome hasn't closed. Can't check on desktop until tomorrow.

I have a question, I can no longer change my avatar. It has reverted to the old one, which used to pop up a lot anyway. Not a big concern, quite the opposite, but I figure you must have disabled this as it was clearly giving problems. Anyway, thought I would ask.

Thanks for keeping this place going, must be quite the chore (or even a labour of love).

I had the same problem, only able to edit posts if the phone is in landscape mode. If it portrait the drop down doesn't work.

Thanks for this report - I will have a look. Android or iOS?

For avatars... I have to manually upload this... if you email I will do this. Not sure why it reverted back to an old one, but I can say if you upload an avatar, it may disappear from alone (based on the way the system is setup) so I have to do this manually.

Just tested and understand that on a mobile in portrait mode (standard) the dropdown with the edit option doesn't open.

If I flip the phone horizontal, I can see my post options and do an edit.
Likely with the new software, a compatibility issue with that button, but I know what to do.

Can't replicate the repeated login issue on web (Chrome, Edge).
Still occurring on mobile (android chrome).

Was there something happen today? I was logged out of my phone and computer and can only get back in via my phone because despite me having remember me ticked, My phone is the only one that remembers me but it doesn't give me the ability to show me my password, so that I can login on the computer. :?

You could try 'forgot password' and set a new. Or look up your passwords on the phone.
Nothing happened I am aware of.

All good now, the usual name and password screen turned up, unlike the vacant one before. :)

Another big backend update - that should be otherwise invisible. (necessary software update and server adjustement).

Something that will be visible is the fixed breadcrumbs in the forum... and DavidS gets his Avatar!

Still have the dropdown menu (mobile view) to fix and also the advertising (fix ads on the right and remove google ads inbetween content).

Interesting, but ah—,
Two things I find perplexing about a forum that is so popular: 1) no provision for avatar; 2) the seeming non-functional way of posting or linking images; the Image is cryptic and unhelpful. Is this a coding limitation or what??

Yes, both these are because of the hosting and coding combibation.

Weeks, if not months of work were sunk into these and I couldn’t get a workable solution

Because of the level if traffic, traditional hosting is cost prohibitive so we use a cloud service, but has the side effect of impacting uploading (and permanently saving) uploaded files.

Images is fairly standard - you host somewhere else, copy their link and put it in between the IMG tags.

Have had to log in again 3 times today via Chrome desktop. Chrome says connection is secure, certificate is valid, 3rd party cookies blocked.

Logging in via Edge desktop says connection is secure.

Have to log in each and every time I visit via Chrome on Android 13, even if navigating away via a page link, the forums require me to re-login. This interface says connection is not secure. Login is easy on phone as it's a saved password for now and a one-tap process.

Whatever this means?

Thanks Familyguy. I will have a look (this is on my list). It is unusual behaviour.

--

For avatars, if you upload one, it will be available until I do the next update or if the server ramps up / ramps down.

Avatars need to be sent to me - just email me as I need to manually add them so they are permanent. I know it is a hassle... (yesterday 12 hours trying to fix a forum tech issue without a solutions...)
