Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a 2015 Giant defy Advance 2 frame. Is there anything that i should be aware of before i buy it?
I know that it has a D Fuse seat post.
It needs a press fit bottom bracket. Does anyone know what type it will take?
Is there anything else i should know?
TIA

BB86 format. Which brand/model will be dictated by your choice of crank.
Does it include the fork? You may find it has a larger steerer tube, 1 1/2" - 1 1/4" tapered, rather than the standard 1 1/4" - 1 1/8". If it's a standard Advanced it will have the thinner steerer, if it's an Advanced Pro it will have the thicker one. This will dictate your headset, spacer stack and stem.

I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Thanks Duck. It has a front fork and a stem.
It only the Advanced 2 and not the pro.
With the BB86, is it pretty standard?
Or are standards all over the place?
Thanks.

BB86 is one of the most widely used press-fit standards and is used on most road frames from Giant, Canyon, Scott, Avanti and many others. It's also the only press-fit standard that is supported by Shimano.
If you are using a Shimano road crankset, you'll need one of these:

If you're using a different crankset, it will depend on the manufacturer and the crankset standard as to which bottom bracket you'll need.

BB86 is the most common press-fit standard.
"Standard" is a greatly misused word frequently used to describe proprietary connection between parts. In correct use, a standard is an industry-wide design to allow component manufacturers' stuff to attach to frames. While there are several bottom bracket standards used through the industry, there are far fewer than many people believe, due to the misuse of the word.
BB86 is designed around cranks that also use outboard-bearing threaded bottom brackets - Shimano, most SRAM & Campagnolo, FSA MegaExo for example.
