E assist conversion.

Postby Mike Ayling » Fri Oct 07, 2022 8:24 am

For my 80th birthday which is today I bought a runout model Merida Speeder 100 from my local 99 Bikes shop getting it at 40% off the RRP of $990 so $600.
I then took it to RevBike at Nunawading Vic 3131 where Rebecca's team installed a mid drive motor with a 36V 15AH battery.

My only niggle with the conversion is that the battery takes up so much space in the frame triangle that there is no space for a water bottle.

Otherwise I have a reasonably light e bike.

Wow Mike, a Very Happy 80th Birthday sir, well done on getting a great deal on bike and e-assist.

There are some bike packing bags you can place on the handlebars to fit a bottle of water or maybe just get a camelback backpack with 2 or 3 litre bladder for water storage and a hose to suck on as you go.

Anyway Mike it's your Birthday and you deserve to treat yourself in any way and it's great to see someone cycling their way into their 80's on a bicycle and not a zimmer frame....I salute you!!

Cheers and just a few beers
