QR to TA conversion - MacGyver time !!

Hi all,

Have a SciCon Aerocomfort based bike bag from Wiggle (need to remove bars, but everything else the same) that is setup for 100/135 QR.

Now that both the roadies I have are 100/142 12mm TA, I need to work out how to best convert it. There are some options, with some of them being :

- Just get a 12mm drill and use it (amateur MacGyver)
- 3D printed adaptors that are neat, but only can find the .slt files, so need someone or somehow to print them (classy thinking MacGyver)
- or just buy the parts from SciCon for $120 + shipping (lazy & expensive MacGyver)

Anyone go any other suggestions/options (will add links when the computer works better ...)

Demand that Daryl build you one.

Otherwise, would one of these work on the front wheel?

Not sure what to do at the back though.

Already have one that I use on the bike stand, but it’s heavy, so makes it crap for baggage weight limits

Because I'd managed to download the .stl files, I googled some sites that offered to print items where you had the files.

Great I thought, uploaded the 5 files and selected a couple of things, and thought, "$45 bucks, that's not bad", until I realised that it was for one of the spacers, and not all 5.

Then selected the main part - $127.00. :o  Ummmmm, no thanks.

Might have to refer back to option #1 (amateur MacGyver) or utilise the adaptor that I have for the workstand end get more baggage allowance :?

When in doubt, use a hammer and if that doesn't work, find a bigger one.

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

One of my Framie mottos during my RAAF time ...

The other one I've heard with the same sentiment, "if at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer".

I quite like those "How to fix anything mechanical" flow charts like this.
