Any ideas on where I would get a new derailleur hanger for my Cell Omeo 2 (preferably Australia) ?
Had a minor fall and laid the bike down on drive side, managed to true the hanger using the appropriate tool, but noticed a small crack in the hanger
Am I doomed to just scrolling through hundreds of hangers on a foreign website until I find one that looks the same ?

www.wheelsmfg.com is your friend. Narrow it down by the number of mounting bolts so you don't have to trawl all several hundred hangers, find the matching one, note its number (e.g. DH123) and away you go. They're distributed in Australia by SCV Imports, so any bike shop should be able to get one for you, just tell them the DH number you need.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

I just received an order from derailleurhanger.com. 4 days landed from the US via Fedex, and significantly cheaper than wheelsmfg both for the parts and the freight.

I’ve also found hangers on eBay, however, it’s a bit of a gamble as to wether it will fit or not.
Rant: I don’t understand how there can be so many of the stupid things. Why aren’t they standardised across a range of bikes. Like make about 10 different ones and then put one of them on everything. Hen there’s the price. How can they justify $50 for $2 worth of Aluminium casting they build millions of.

This is the bike industry, remember!bychosis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:09 amRant: I don’t understand how there can be so many of the stupid things. And the good ones are machined, not cast.

Still, if they are machining thousands, it can’t cost that much.Duck! wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:44 pmThis is the bike industry, remember!bychosis wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:09 amRant: I don’t understand how there can be so many of the stupid things. It’s not just the bike industry. Try finding a replacement cartridge for a mixer tap. ‘Right to repair’ legislation needs to include standardisation of wear/sacrificial parts.

Check with Dave Musgrove at bicycles online - think he designed that bike and if not would have been the person to do the specs and o/s imports /ordering - he will know which is the right one and then the best place to get itNewcastle Dave wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:01 amThanks for the advice, I think I have found the right one, now all I have to do is get it
