My niece is getting into commuting & I want to encourage her & was thinking of giving her a joke Xmas present of an advanced commuter badge, storm dodger, for watching the radar till the downpour passed & could ride home dry
Any suggestions?

Does she have good wet weather gear? Maybe buy her a bicycle Poncho for the times she might get caught out. They are great, keeps you mostly dry except maybe below the knees and they allow you air underneath for ventilation whilst keeping you dry. That'd be a great Xmas gift...plus the badgefind_bruce wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 8:40 pmMy niece is getting into commuting & I want to encourage her & was thinking of giving her a joke Xmas present of an advanced commuter badge, storm dodger, for watching the radar till the downpour passed & could ride home dry

Anyone know of a cycling cape that is
- not so flimsy it tears easily
- not so heavy it's hot and difficult to manage
- a reasonably bright colour?
I have a dutch one that does the first two but is a dark red with grey bits. Not very visible in the rain.
I have seen eyewateringly expensive Carradice ones that seem to be made out of canvas meaning heavy and not very flexible.

well, for what it's worh.... get her a Rotovelo.. Easily seen by ALL sydney drivers , therefore full access to all Sydney roads , excellent weather protection , recumbent legs may need a bit of work..

Yes, but Rivendell don’t sell them any more. Sorry
