Bribie Island Tri 2021

Postby foo on patrol » Tue Feb 16, 2021 8:28 pm

First round of the yeah this weekend.

Haven't got my Giant Chrono running again yet, so it will be my Scott Foil with the clip on's again and the Zipp 404 Speed Weaponry's for the job. I do it for the kids in the team firstly but it is a hell of a workout, going full tilt for that 10klms and barely able to stand up after it. :) Before anyone say's what, only 10klms, it's a very technical course with plenty of turns and round about's for some interesting lines. I maybe in my 60's but I can still corner better than most of the top Tri athlete's on the day.

Anyone from here taking part in it?

Thanks mate, pain is good is pain and no pain = no gain. Wish it was easier than this to get some toughness back in the lags but it's all about the kids having a crack.

The hurt fest is over for another day. The team got fourth which was pretty good considering the size of my runner and the swimmer coming out pretty far back. :)

Final one for the season on Sunday. Conditions are looking very good for it, with wind and rain a strong possibility. :(

Surely bad weather plays to your strengths Foo. It will punish the lightweight whippets who can't handle their bikes, especially those whose equipment is selected based on being aero in steady state conditions.

It may not be fun, but you should look forward to doing well.

Cheers,

Cameron

It's standing around in the rain and wind, waiting for the swimmer to come in. Then cleaning the bike down, due to sand all through the drive line components but thanks Cameron.

Thanks but it sucks having the determination of a 20yr old and the fitness of a 80yr old even though I'm not that old.

Thanks. :)

It's a barely okay average for me in my constant state of unfitness. :( If fit, I know that I could average 36-37kmh and that's what sucks for.

Thanks mate, pain is good is pain. Three young girls beside me in transition, thought I was dying in front of them when I was trying to recover hanging onto the bike rack. (Asking, are you okay)

Have committed myself to another round of embarrassment for the start of the new series. Feel sorry for the two kids that are linked to me, because my fitness level is worse than any other year but, if it gets kids out and exercising, then it's a good thing. :(

Thanks mate but I have to question my sanity with my age and fitness level = none. It does give the heart rate a good workout. (Heart Rate Avg 180bpm Max 194bpm)

You've got a small heart like me.
Cardiac output = heart rate x stroke volume.
