Shimano shifter
Postby Shoey » Tue Oct 13, 2020 6:07 pm
Hi all, I am looking at purchasing a x-caliber 7 can you get a shifter for the left hand side of the bar that will operate the rear derailleur. I have limited use of my right hand. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks David

The only way to do it really really properly is to lash out and go for Di2 electronics, because the shifter functions can be customised.
Using more traditional mechanical systems, there are a few ways to bodge left hand/rear derailleur shifting, all with varying degrees of ergonomic compromise. Grip shift is the least compromised, but Shimano only make them up to 8-sp.

I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
