Reckon there would be a just a bit of flex in the forks and frame, and the central leftover seat tube would be ready to punch a hole in your chest ...

My thoughts exactly
  • feet on pedals
  • butt on saddle
  • hands on bars
Pick any 2
Anything you can do, I can do slower

I kinda like it. Different. But then I like Lefty forks.
How about Righty frames?

It's possible the seller is a tad ambitious with pricing
Looks great, and no need to dismount wheels to change tyres! But I wonder about how long that frame is going to last before fatigue failure sets in without some amount of give built in where the rear arms meet the front triangle.

Interesting 'Track Bike' on offer in Moss Vale.
Not a track bike at all IMHOP but quite a nice pre WWII or just post WWII road bike where someone has either fitted new forks or 'adjusted' <sic> the originals - I fear the latter..... Also I can see the bases of cut-off pump pegs on the seat tube.

Might be nice if you can knock it down to half price?

Old Mtbs are so cheap.

But they all have those shite twist-shifts.
Big rake/ stretch on this one, but nice rubber, and I like the paint. #lifecycle

Avoid. That fork is quite clearly bent.

"Yes this is the I don't really want to sell this price."
Laugh. Well, not too expensive, but no way that bike's ever getting rebuilt with decent kit. Nasty scuffs, and not exactly rare.

Gem of a CFR1. After enjoying my old carbon Wilier... I might have to try one of these one day.

Some people just kindof lose their mind when confronted with the technological marvel that is a bicycle. That guy gets big bonus points.

I've been eyeing this — https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 3649436455 — off for a little while but I have no idea how to judge it (I'm new to all this), and I'd not heard of Kona before. I'm guessing they're a decent brand? Does this look okay to you?

(For anyone who doesn't have Facebook, the link I posted is to a grey and yellow single speed Kona bike, 60cm frame, dropbars with those nice kind of integrated brakes attached, listed at $300 and looking to be in pretty decent shape, though again, I probably don't know what to look for.)

The Paddywagons are solid quality bikes from what I've seen of them. There are a few owners here who might give tips. If I was needing something I'd be making a slight lowball and seeing what happens. Looks like it has a few cosmetic scrapes, but nothing looks bent. Check brake track wear on the wheels, spin everything that should spin and listen for noises. Take it a for a test ride and see if it fits.

Bigger stuff doesn't come up as often, and is usually either a screaming bargain or spectacularly overpriced, there doesn't seem to be many in the middle ground.

I've got one; it's my commuter and general get around bike. It's that model too, 2009 I think. Great bike, it's done everything from 150k rides through to hauling kids. That one is mostly stock by the look of it, mine has gone through a few wheels, cranks and saddles over that time.

That one looks to have some dents in the top tube, so you might have some room for negotiation, but I reckon $300 is a fair price if otherwise it's in good condition.

Mine from a few years ago, but generally looks the same now:

Thanks guys, good info! Unfortunately the seller of the one I posted hasn't been terribly responsive, so I might give it a miss. But you're helping me learn. :)
