Thanks blokes, I'm hoping that I can now commit and focus on the bikes and fitness now.

Hi:
Probably the last update on "TrikeTragic head that looks like a map of WA"...
I had my last "procedural clinic" with the Alfred today, dressing removed from the donor site on my thigh, stitches removed from my noggin. Duly inspected by Alfred Plastics registrar, and given the all clear to get back on the trike, and resume playing basketball (he suggested I play with a protective helmet, already purchased.) Woo hoo!
Cheers

I am amused that when I go to see a doctor & she asks how I am, my conditioned response is good thanks, while in reality something's not right which is why I made the appointment.
RUOK sometimes elicits the same response, we're conditioned to say everything is fine.
I was reading do you have 8 minutes and thought it was an interesting approach to break down that conditioning & indicate a desire for support

Anything you can do, I can do slower

Oh crap! That’s dreadful news and one of the worst bones to break too. He will probably be off the bike for a long time. Been there, done that and permanently worse off.

That’s sobering. I had a colleague who lost his life to that. I don’t know how he still managed to be so upbeat when things were plainly so crap. He was always assisted by his carer.

Renowned Aussie cycling coach (Gary West) lost his life to MND (Motor Neurone Disease) several years ago. He was credited with getting Anna Meares to return to the Track and excel once more on the World stage after she was seriously injured in 2008.g-boaf wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 12:14 amOh crap!
