Well I bought a 105 crank to use with a power meter and found the left arm to be identical to the Ultegra version except for the logo - weight was exactly the same...rodneycc wrote:Stages 105 5800 power meter (left crank arm). $399 Pushys. Hmm Wonder if the bike would look too daggy with mixed cranks 105 and ultegra/DA? ). Tempted.

That is extraordinary value....if I had the readies on hand right now, i'd grab another Vivente myself to convert to a Gravel bike.
The clearance on these bikes is exceptional for a Tourer, with mudguards removed, the 700C Swiss rims will take up to a 50mm tyre making these perfect for bikepacking and gravel.
If you're in the market for a awesome new bike, contact Bernard at metro Cycles Newcastle and find out what sizes and models remain. 02 49621060
I'm not affilliated with Metro Cycles but I do know the proprietor and he's a very knowledgeable bloke whos great with the tools.
Get in on it!!
Cheers

As a general rule, most of Aldi's stuff is pretty good quality.fergy1987 wrote:Just saw Aldi is going to have a rear light camera Fly6 knockoff next week for $59 - Not sure how good it will be but if you want to give a camera a go.....and not spend $200 might be a good buy.

They are selling short fingered cycling gloves for $7 a pair.
I got these in red, didn't really pay attention to other colours.

Very slight padding, but I think they will be good for commuting (may not be that great for your weekend ride).
They also had some cheap bibshorts for $25, but I wasnt interested, so didnt look into it much

At long last, I’ve learned to avoid these kind of bargains.Six13 wrote:Little downside - if its not very good can just take it backfergy1987 wrote:Just saw Aldi is going to have a rear light camera Fly6 knockoff next week for $59 - Not sure how good it will be but if you want to give a camera a go.....and not spend $200 might be a good buy.
By the time I confirm it is a cheap piece of junk after all, then I’m faced with the prospect of investing yet more time to go back to the store scrounging for a refund. “Oh excuse me, but this cheap knockoff I bought fails to meet my expectations, can you please give me my money back?”

I disagree. Aldi's 60 day change of mind policy for special buys is painless. I've had far more problems with Cycliq's "warranty".Howzat wrote:At long last, I’ve learned to avoid these kind of bargains.Six13 wrote:Little downside - if its not very good can just take it backfergy1987 wrote:Just saw Aldi is going to have a rear light camera Fly6 knockoff next week for $59 - Not sure how good it will be but if you want to give a camera a go.....and not spend $200 might be a good buy.

Anyone had any experience with these? Been using a toolbag and its a real PITA with things like hex wrenches then all your lube, grease etc all over the place - Want something with a bit more of an ability to sort things.
