Been ordering a few bits and bobs from BikeBug's website cos their pricing seems to have gotten quite competitive recently. Besides they've got a branch next to our office,
Dunno whether it's just me but I feel like I'm treated as a 2nd class customer whenever I tell them "I'm here to pick up an online order". Shrug. Small price of convenience.

Ordered parts from JensonUSA. First time. Received the parcel within a week, via UPS, from the US. Impressively fast.
Had to pay a 10% import fee before customs would release the parcel. Current BAU practice for online shops selling to AU customer i suppose. Never had to do it with c r c and Wiggle so it's all new to me.

I knew it would be. The staff there are weird. The owner guy in particular. He has been discussed in here before.

What, North Sydney? I get along well with them, even the owner, although I’m an infrequent visitor these days.

Among the various bike shops, I rank BikeBug North Sydney and Tempe highly, Clarence Street Cyclery also ranks well and so does Jet Cycles among those Sydney CBD and surrounding areas bike shops.

Just received a pair of Veloflex master 28 tyres from BikeBug.
$103 the pair (non SPS version) and pretty quick delivery from Sydney to Melbourne.
So far liking the tyres on my old Mavic Open 4 CD rims.

It was my first purchase from MTB Direct (Australian Company).
Purchased 2 tyres and arrived within a week. Competitive price with o'seas companies that now only offer free postage on purchases over $199.
They also offer to answer any mtb questions you have and answered mine the same day.

I think it's more that o/s companies such as Wiggle have become more expensive now due to low Australian dollar and now having to add GST to orders

Brought tyres, chain and tubular cement from Bikebug. One week delivery to Melbourne Metro here. Free shipping over $99, private delivery company with live tracking on delivery day.

c r c and Wiggle just lost me with over $199 free shipping. With these large purchases, I can always drive more values buying from a range of different sellers. Take times, but I am not in a hurry.

Just noticed the 199 free shipping at Wiggle and c r c. What the hell. I thought 99 was steep. Well thats me done.

The more we have to buy to get free shipping, the less value for money we get from one seller.

Bikebug, Velogear, Pushys are on $99 free shipping, Cyclingdeal is on $20.

Online fleebay seller Le Tour Cycles also have free shipping on most single item. I find them good in value and product range.

Hope it helps. :D

Just bought my son a new Trek Marlin 5 2021 from Cycles Galleria Camberwell and couldn't recommend them enough.
Had been having trouble trying to find one in stock and was told no stock until October from the Ringwood store.
For some stupid reason I was checking stock daily and one in his size and colour popped up in Camberwell.
Quick phone call and spoke to Jedd who needed a $99 deposit to hold it until I could get the family dressed and out the door from Knox.
Get there where he hooked us up with a couple of extras and we were on our way.
Bike fitted in the car but with seats folded wife drove home with the kids and I had to tram it back to Vermont.

Big thanks again for a smooth transaction and I couldn't recommend them enough.

Bought 5 pairs of Maglianera Italian cycling socks from Full Beam Australia at 60% off. 1 of them was out of stock so there was a refund, I sent them an email saying I would have been happy to choose another sock. They sent me a code to buy another pair of socks at 60% off, sale was finished, also the code gave me free postage, not sure if they made any money off that one.

Northside Cycles, North Melbourne.

Expert, not pushy, generous (let me put his own, personal saddle on my bike to test drive it before buying the same model), very personable, calls it like he sees it.

Everything an LBS should be!

Got a phone call from Moruya Bikes this morning, seems one of the items in my order was somehow missing/out of stock and they wanted to give me the option of sending the order as is and then post the missing item when it came back into stock, or keep the order on hold and ship when the item comes back into stock in 2-3 days time.

Very impressed with the service, especially in giving me the option.

(The item in question is a Park Tool bearing/spoke gauge, not a big deal but also a lesson in why you should never loan bike tools to people)

I thought the o/s bike shops such as Wiggle were banned from supplying Shimano parts to Australia?
I ordered and received a couple of Shimano chains last week.

Blackman Bicycles. Parramatta.

Nine years on from my last review and nothing has changed except maybe a few faces.

Helpfull staff, as always, except this time the bloke even checked the wheel next to the bin outside to see if he could help my 81 year old Dad, who just wanted one bearing cone, without buying a whole axle, no luck but not through lack of trying. Many times they have helped us in our bike building endevours. Can't recommend them enough!

I've also had good experiences with Pushys recently, as well as ProBike Kit.

Very happy with an ebay store too (Dyson Bikes), picked up a pair of Ortlieb back-rollers for ~$170 for both, and they arrived in 48 hours of ordering.
William Klein House (another ebay store) is selling drybags and was another purchase I was happy with, bought a 5l drybag so I can strap my sleepingbag to my front fork for backpacking trips.
