I think furniture has less of a risk factor for injuring someone if assembled incorrectly. I guess you could potentially get a serious injury if a chair collapsed while sitting in it or a table collapsed when it had hot food or beveridges on it but less likely than speeding down a hill at 60km/h + and the front fork or handlebar stem falls outWarin wrote:
The thing on selling full assembled bikes .. the lawyers think that self assembled things provide more opportunity for litigation. Think Ikea goes against that idea...

Passed an Aldi on my Saturday (late)morning travels so I popped in; wasn't specifically looking but don't recall tripping over any boxed bikes yesterday.
The Bikemate workshop gear seems to have changed to white boxes, pretty sure they were blue previously. Manuals updated to "9/2018" datestamp but can't say offhand if there's any changes to the tools but casually all looks same stuff as before.
Didn't think the C02 kit was worth $9... very roughly cast & tacky made. Plus another $9 for 4 cartridges? They sell for that much?! Thought they were priced $1-2ea (AT) LBS & I'd rather give my $$ to them instead. (I don't C02... I prefer N2 )

Best I can find is Wiggle at $48 each (28mm version). PBK etc all around $60, same as Bikebug. Looks like the days of low-$40s are over.

Merlin has a pair $92 including free tubes - unfortunately no stock of tubes that fit 28mm tyres, and the others all have absurdly long stems.

Down from $499 to $299. I'm not recommending, nor pretending to know anything about BMX bikes, I just thought was a fair discount.
