The mirror I had was pretty unobtrusive. Fixed in position under the bar tape. It didn't move.

Thanks for the heads up - I bought a couple of these and fitted one to my commuter today. Will see how it goes this week. Like most people I will turn and look anyway, but this will be good when I'm moving off at traffic lights, and for when motorised devices zoom up from behind on the shared paths.

The charging port on my Varia RTL515 mechanically failed when I went to charge it after this mornings ride. Don't like riding without radar so wanted to get one before the weekend. The local 99bikes has RTL515 at $299 or Magene L508 at $168 so went with the cheaper option. As well as being cheaper it has USB C charging which should be better. The Magene has quarter turn mount but is oriented 90° to Garmin (why?). The current mount on the bike (not the rubber band mounted type) allows for the inner lock to be rotated 90°, and had the structure to hold it but needed to drill the holes out for vertical orientation. Installed app on phone and updated the firmware and turned off modes I don't want. Paired with Garmin 830 and all looks good.
