Online Purchases - good and bad experiences

I decided to give Temu a shot. Communication on tracking is up there with Aliexpress. Delivery time was 11 days. There is a minimum spend of $40, which I am not keen on as I often buy low-priced bits and pieces. The other negative was that the packaging was not great: a plastic bag. Nothing was broken, but some boxes within the bag were squashed.

The products were much the same as what I could have gotten from Aliexpress.

I just tried Temu too. Non bike stuff and delivery was quick. Would use again.

On the subject of Aliexpress cycling products - I've found my new choice of bib shorts on there, seeing as DHB seems to winding up with the downfall of Wiggle.

They're from YKYW Bike - they have all sorts of bibs on offer, including ones with an Elastic Interface chamois. I just went with their basic in-house bib, after reading a few reviews on Reddit. I've bought jerseys from YKYW before which were excellent quality, but I was still very sceptical as bib shorts are a different game!

These are incredible for $25 a pop though. I've already ordered three more pairs. An Asian large fits me exactly as a medium would in the DHB Aeron. They're just the right length, and the stitching/build quality, etc is truly impressive for the price. I've done numerous 3-3.5hr rides with no issue, and they've held up well after multiple wash cycles.

Very happy to find something to replace my DHB bibs, which are starting to show their age. I refuse to pay some of the outlandish prices people do for cycling kit!

These are the ones I've got if anyone wants to have a squiz.

I don't need too many new bibs as I bought a few dhb before c r c/wiggle collapsed. At that price I bought a pair to try out.

I have two pairs of those same YKYWBike bibs and I think they're great. I mean, they don't compare to the high-end stuff (particularly with the chamois), but now they're probably my favourite bibs under $100. Have worn them on some 4-5 hour rides and they've been fine.

Bought these winter bibs size XXXL (I am 195cm 94kg) and they are a good fit. Were comfortable on todays 1 hour ride and good warmth. Good value at $25 so bought another two pairs.

Chamois works for me but only done 1 hr ride so far. Normally XXL but bought XXXL based on their sizing chart.

I love some of the fake reviews

I have the same as any European manufacturer. The badana has a standard padding to be able to make outings of more than 2 hours without problem (in my opinion). I have some underpants with a Craft bandana and they are the same as fluffy.

Orders from Bike24 and from HiBike (German retailers) arrived in 18 days. The promised delivery times were 14-16, but they use DHL Post, which is, in my experience, unreliable and expensive. Pays to do a decent order to justify the shipping.

Another than that whinge all was good with the orders.

I purchased a custom frame bag from Kedan (Bike Bag Dude). 19 days from the initial email discussion, sending of the template to receipt of the bag. As always, the bag is of top-notch quality.

This is my second frame bag from Kedan and it is of even better quality/design than my first one from 2015.

Dt350, cx ray, brass nipples.
Hookless.
Bought them for gravel but have repurposed them for road. 28f, 30r at 60-65psi. Beautiful to ride. They weren't that cheap though.

Yeah, I can vouch for Far Sports.

I bought some rim brake wheels with a basic Novatec hub from them way back in 2017 and they've given me no issues at all over tens of thousands of kilometres. Still sitting in the garage good to go, just without a bike attached haha.

I had a good long look at the LB offering, having seen your rave reviews on here and elsewhere on the web.

The price was just a bit too much for what I'm willing to spend though (because I'm a tight arse). Sounds like they are well worth the money though, especially when compared to how much you'd have to pay for something similar locally.

I have LB wheels they were great to deal with and the wheels have been good. However, if I was to get a new set of wheels I would lean towards Farsports due to the pricing being quite a bit better.

I'm very happy with my Farsports Feder rims. The total build was around $300 less than LB using DT Swiss 350 hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes.
