Didn't they what! Pulled the trigger through the week on an Ultegra 6800 groupset, cost me $729 once I'd configured it how I want. Today the exact same setup is $821!rodneycc wrote:Ribble has code show10 for 10% off with its usual exclusions. Bit of a croc because a lot of their prices went up 10% a couple of days ago!

The 4603 groupset for my commuter build arrived yesterday. $14 less than 10% off the current price. I win!

Bear in mind currency fluctuations.billy70 wrote:I've been starting to diversify away from Wiggle due to a decreasing range and a real slip in their shipping standards. Recently made a couple of Ribble purchases to try them out again, and paid less than their newly jacked up minus 10% prices. This sort of practice to artificially inflate prices doesn't go down well with me, so I'll be giving them a miss in the future.
Its hardly Ribbles fault (or all other online overseas retailer) that the $AUD has seen significant falls and any increase in an overseas retailers prices could simply be a result of the currency. Manufacturers may also be increasing prices so in effect it could be a double whammy. It seems a bit unfair to suggest dubious pricing strategy without further evidence. What was the increase of the items when displayed in GBP?

you're still protected by the fact he's allegedly local (ABN - which hasn't been active long). for me the alarm bells is that this is all he is offering in terms of products, nothing else. looks like either a uni student making some cash on the side, or a counterfeiting scam. ebay is next to useless for selling and buying in terms of accountability in some cases.
considering pushy's has back roller plus for 199 + their usual $20 off, it was cheaper than his prices and more security.
i'd make another point but i can't because even mentioning his ethnicity is deemed racist on these boards. so i'll leave you to do your own investigative work there.

I've no connection to the seller but merely saw the link whilst trolling the Ozbargain site.
I'd be mortified to learn I'd steered anyone wrong.
I've removed the ozbargain link and deleted/edited my post.

no no, it's not necessarily a bad deal. i just say, buy with caution. if you're going to buy. as always, check prices against others and weigh up the savings if they're worth it.rifraf wrote:Apologies if I forwarded a bad deal.

I bought and received mine from the ebay seller, the Ortlieb Back Roller Plus Q2.1 in lime/moss green from him, as the Pushys ones were slightly outdated Q2 system in colours that didn't suit the bike I'd hopefully be using it on
![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
All seemed My only gripe was it was sent with Officeworks Mailman freight, rather than the Australia Post listed, which meant when I missed it, was a 35min drive to get it, rather than a 5min leisurely cycle to local post office.
They weigh 790g each side, while doing a spring clean I happened to weigh all the luggage I had. Ironically the CrMo steel Tubus FAT rack carrying them rack weighs 1180g

PS: DSE have the Cyclo 500 for $145 again today.
PPS: eBay now has 15% off up to $100... so you could get those Ortlieb for $170 now

Annoyingly out of stock. Castelli jackets are real quality items too. I have a Garmin one from a number of years back that is still good. Really warm in winter.

Comparing them to my Pearl Izumis, they are much more comfortable and appear to be well made. Can't comment on durability though, as I've only used them one Winter.
