(I’ve only had one Shimano set and they were stuffed before the bike got to me. )

There was a sora before that.
No secret. Yeah I've had wire jam in the shifter.
I now check the rear shift cable regularly and change as required.
Thinking of making it a change each time I do a chain. They are cheap and it ain't hard
