Few transfers in recent years have gone as badly as Chris Froome’s move from Team Sky (later INEOS Grenadiers) to Israel-Premier Tech in 2021, in fact this is one of the worst transfers of all time.
https://cyclinguptodate.com/cycling/ana ... ris-froomeFroome has been unable to return to top form. Since joining, he has managed just one top-10 finish in a WorldTour race and has struggled to keep pace in Grand Tours. The move has been widely regarded as one of the worst transfers in cycling history, and it feels like an eternity since we’ve seen Froome remotely close to his best. In fact, come to think of it, the last time we saw a spark of the real Froome was when he was defeated by Pidcock on Alpe d’Huez back in 2022,
And to top it off .....
https://cyclinguptodate.com/cycling/im- ... in-in-2025“I haven’t 100% decided that I’ll be retiring at the end of this year,” Froome admits on ITV Sport commentator Ned Boulting's Never Strays Far podcast at an early season Israel - Premier Tech training camp. “Chances are, yes, I’ll be calling it a day, but I’m just keeping the door open. [I’ll] see how this year goes, see how I’m feeling towards the end of it.”
I'd say he has a strong understanding of reality
That ends on the 31st Dec though !!warthog1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 7:28 amI'd say he has a strong understanding of reality
It has been reported that Froome is on a multi-million euro annual wage, perhaps stretching to as much as €5m
