Wahoo also suggested increasing the height of the bike in total then reducing the height of the seat post to make less risk of this happening again.
This is exactly what I did, it worked for me.
The clamp can't hold the seat above a certain elevation, for mine it's about 85mm. No matter what I do to get it higher than that it just drops back to 85mm.

I have replaced the seat post assembly.
Wahoo sent out the new one along with instructions and a brand new seat post which I don’t need to use but will keep as a spare.
Hopefully nothing else breaks. I think bottom bracket is the next thing I want to replace.

So since I’ve bought the Kickr Shift bike I’ve mainly been injured.
Power must be picking up again now because I’ve noticed the fan stops pointing at me every ride. After some head scratching I’ve worked out I’ve been moving the 40kg Kickr bike about 50cm forwards taking those poor substitute virtual KOMs.
Need more weight!

Wow. Mine is on a matt that is on concrete in my garage. I don't think it's moved an inch

Mine doesn't move either, but mine is also on a big rocker plate and on special rubber mats like used in gyms.
I also don't move around much on the bike and definitely no sprint efforts because I've got no sprint power.

I do have polished concrete, but it does also sit on a Wahoo mat.
Probably a sign I'm wasting energy moving 40kg weights around the garage rather than going fast.
For anyone on Fulgaz I recommend the Nathan Haas rides - particularly Mount Lofty Trails and Red Hill which I did in the last few days.
He's a pro turned gravel racer and they're hilarious. One minute you're taking off over someone's lawn, next you're literally riding through the visitor centre on Mount Lofty summit. Sure, he's giving all us gravel idiots a bad name but they make me laugh!

Polished concrete is the problem, even with the wahoo mat.
I have a carpet floor in the trainer room with rubber mats over that, so nothing is moving about.

Yes, it's probably more the concrete. No solution to that other than putting the trainer in a bedroom which probably won't go down particularly well.
I'm still confined inside for another two weeks and now things are heating up with greater humidity in Brisbane it has revealed another problem. On average I lose 1kg an hour on the indoor trainer. That's a lot of sweat! Went from 61.2kg to 59.2kg in 50km/1300m yesterday.
I swear I'm airconditioning my garage if I'm stuck on this thing any longer.

I didn't mind it so much three short days per week. At six days per week including two hours both days on weekends it's a bit nasty.
My garage is 90m2 though so it's a bit of a mission to cool that.

What kinds of fans are you using? Thought of trying a couple of industrial fans?

I've got the biggest Vornado they make.
I don't think there's any way of avoiding it other than air-conditioning. It's just Queensland.

Try a couple of 450mm industrial fans from bunnings.
Or even something like this:

That looks impressive. I've got a dewalt that punches a fair whack of air. But it's just hot and humid

I've just got the regular 450mm Dynabreeze that sits on the floor, it's enough to do the job. I haven't ever used it on the 3rd setting, that is too much! I've had very humid conditions as well when it is warm, the fan is usually enough for me. Others might be different.
There are 750mm fans as well but they are far too large and don't really do much better.

Don't think fan will help when humidity is high. A dehumidifier and fans may be cheaper to run than an AC.

Wonder if that's for normal Kickr Bike as well, or only Shift version...
In FulGaz Kickr Bike shows the gear you are in.

I'd say you are definitely not smooth on the pedals. It also coincides with you breaking so much gear.
Maybe some rollers once you recover? I am not sure however not tried them myself. Some advantages to be an ageing, declining neverwas though, as I break very little and my kickr core has never moved an inch.

For sure. Still trying to train myself to sit and spin.
It's not going particularly well, I think some bike fitting is in order. I tend to cramp up after a few minutes at 250W+.
My 'Mondo' is featured in the Fulgaz Pick'n Mix this week. Good training circuit with some sharp climbs in it if anyone wants a go.

Probably finishing with a 'Cootha Front' was a mistake. No-one except me has actually finished it yet.

g-boaf - looks like it's the shift and v2 only
so I did the firmware update last night. all the buttons on my bike now work on zwift (kudos, power up, u-turn etc) but no virtual gearing. and my direct connect pops up and disappears so am back over wifi. have logged a job with zwift

On the way back down or the way up?
I'm sure there will be complaints as it is, no-one on Fulgaz likes climbing. Wait until I add a 'Reverse Mondo' or 'Dirty Mondo'. With the gravel one being up Mahogany Trail, down Highland Trail, and then up South Boundary Road and down to Gold Creek. There's well over 1000m elevation on that one and some of the pinches are 25%.

on the way back down, after you have gone across the top and down the back, then up the climb so you can descend the botanical gardens

edit: with the speed limit change on the botanical gardens, may have to create a new version with the side diversion to avoid it
