Killing the boredom!

Postby toolonglegs » Thu Oct 08, 2009 8:32 pm

SO what do peps do on their trainers to numb the boredom?.
Today I have Transformers 2 to watch on DivX...but should just make a loop of Liz Hatch on her bike!...I could watch that girl ride all day...don't tell my wife thou  .
I have a whole winter ahead and will spend half of it indoors...yuck!.

Listen to music. I have to choose something cadence appropriate though, otherwise intervals start looking a little skewed. DKM - Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya, (...Nearly Killed Ma Interval). Otherwise go harder, there is no time to be bored when you're trying not to puke (ask my club mates about this one...)

i couldnt spend any amount of time on a trainer if it wasnt for my spinervals dvds. even then the first 15 minutes is tedious, after that its all good

for some reason i find playing music annoying whilie i'm in the trainer

Spinervals are the only thing that can get me on the trainer. I find I can do two DVDs back to back with only becoming bored towards the end of the second one. There is no way I can just ride or whatever on the trainer. I could maybe do some intervals with music, but I've never tried so I don't really know.

Kevin Bacon? Quicksilver. Probably just salt in the wound if you're trapped on a trainer

Thats me too, never tried without a spinervals, I really like them. I would actually prefer to go on the trainer with a spinervals than ride outside most days. It's much quicker and more effective for me, I'm pretty time poor so it gives me a quick workout.

I did 3.5 hours on the rollers last Monday. Listened to an audio book - Dan Browns the Lost Symbol pretty trashy but it did the trick. Audio books are a goer I recon.

but really, that's rubbish. We get none of it because the choices are illusory.
