Inflation brand Genuine Innovations to shut down
Genuine Innovations, an American accessory brand known for its clever inflation products, is shutting down after 35 years. Its parent company, Illinois Tool Works, told Bicycle Retailer that “with the rise of low-cost and private-label competitors, the brand was ultimately squeezed out.”
Sister brand Slime, which includes bike tire sealants, will continue. [https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industr ... nnovations]
I've had some of their gear, mainly the Nanoflate, and it was great

As soon as I saw the product above I knew it would be "crowded market".
And people just buy whatever is cheapest for those things, although me personally I go for whatever has best quality/reliability that will last and not leave me stranded somewhere.

Sad to see them go. It could be suggested that Gen. Inn. are a victim of their own quality; once you've bought one (or some) of their products, it's a very long time before you need to replace it/them, so product turnover is a lot lower than others. I have a G.I. mini pump and CO2 inflator, both of which are nudging 20 years old, and still working as well as they did when new!
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
