Hi cyclists,
I've noticed that more and more bicycle and accessory brands are investing in social network marketing, sometimes with techniques that seem to come straight out of digital strategy manuals. Does it really push you to try out new brands, or are you more of a stickler for what you already know? I know this question may have been asked before, but I wonder if these sales techniques really work on us bike enthusiasts.

Can you provide some examples - would be interesting to know which digital strategy manuals you are referring to and the techniques.
Without linking to the brands, what have you noticed? Obviously there are marketing activities that follow best practices so not unusual to see trends - though as this part of consumer sales, more info would be good.

Not really surprised there is more social media type marketing. Its a lot cheaper amd easier than traditional print media or TV advertising. It's a crowded marketplace.
I occasionally click on a bike related ad, then get bombarded by it for the next 6 weeks. Don't think it really affects me - but it probably does a little. Then again, I'm not a person to buy the latest and greatest so I'm less susceptible to marketing.

I see through the marketing content.
I already have two extremely good bicycles, so I am not interested in another one.

Very unlikely that we will hear from the original poster and their contribution that reads as if it were copied directly from ChatGPT.
