A wee bit more windy than expected. Sunny early this morning, but that has gone.
Still, it's lunch, and time to chow-down.

This morning at 6am it “said” that it was 6 degrees in Murwillumbah. And it felt like 6 degrees.
But at the same time it said that it was 9 degrees at Noosa Heads, which is almost 200 km north.
And it said that it was 12 degrees at Kingscliff, which is 20 km east.
And 9 degrees at Pottsville, which is 30 km south east.
And 11 degrees at Byron Bay, which is 60 km south east !
All of those places are right on the coast (except Murwillumbah)
Find it hard to believe that there could be that much variation, and that Kingscliff would be warmer than Noosa Heads !
Anyway, when I drove to Kingscliff at 7am it didn’t feel ANY warmer than Murwillumbah.
It might have been 7 degrees I guess but it certainly wasn’t 12 degrees.

Yeah Warty, it was minus 3 in my part of Albury this morning with a nice frost on the grass so it certainly is fresh, will go out on the bike around 10.30 this morning when it warms up a bit. I had to take the bins out this morning so it's the only reason i know.
cheers

In South Western Sydney that happens quite a lot, cars have iced over windscreens and windows.foo on patrol wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 8:49 amIce on the cars for the last three days here in Fernvale.

At least we don't get snow - in Europe it's much worse having to dig out your car (while everything is damn cold) and/or wait for everything warm up and defrost.

Not particularly cold but that's exactly on my threshold between 'winter sleeves and long-fingered gloves' and 'no sleeves and short fingered gloves'.
Probably made the wrong decision going on the lesser option. Though I think my major mistake was not wearing merino socks - right foot went so numb at one stage I thought I couldn't tell whether it was clipped in or not and it turned out it wasn't.

Sadly there are days we need to sacrifice, not only for peace but for piece of mind that once done, the sooner we get out riding again......which reminds me that i'll have to tidy up my ratty lawn for the first time in 3 Months.....i'm an expert at growing weeds it seems

Half days, ride in the morning first.
I hear you on the lawn. Ours is/was buffalo grass but weed seed from the straw I bring in for the chooks has taken over half of it.

Not sure if it's much good but i'll hit the lawns with a couple of bottles of weed n feed then again in mid September. I just want the grass to overtake the weeds.warthog1 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 7:23 pmI have pretty close to zero interest in doing it, but it has to be done and I aint paying somebody to.brumby33 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2024 7:02 pm

Yeah it does Foo but it doesn't fix the massive grey/brown gaps in the grass and heaven forbid if it somehow seeps into the grassy areas....it then promotes more weeds to join the party afterwards....well at least weeds are greenfoo on patrol wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 7:45 amI find industrial strength roundup fixes the problem.
