Nice Jason. :)
How are you going with the Corsa N.EXT?
I had a 26c do this;

Had a 28 on later and it started to do the same.
May have just been a bad batch though?

^ Interesting. My Corsa Controls are starting to look like that, although the rubber hasn't come away...yet.

Few minor changes since last seen here, mainly some shallower compacts and a few teeth down up front in the shape of an oval :P

Latest entrant to the garage of 'it's not a new bike, it's just the old bike with a new (warranty) frame.

I think I prefer this colour.

Also probably the only Driftless (1x US only) frameset in Australia with a 2X setup.

Think I'm finished upgrading this bike
Image
Image
Started as an aethos comp with 105 di2
Before it left the shop:
Roval (s-works equivalent) stem
Carbon bars
Ultegra crank
Ultegra chain
Since then:
Shifters and brakes upgraded to dura-ace
Cassette upgraded to Ultegra
Rotors upgraded to dura-ace equivalent
Wheels upgraded to farsports
Saddle upgraded to power expert mirror (was a warranty replacement from another bike, so why not)

Very nice, and very light!

Last year’s colours are very cheap, don’t tempt me!

That frame must be damn light to start with! That's really light, especially with disc brakes which everyone says can't be light - well there you are, they can be. 8)

Eeek! I hope those are now better than the first ones which had all sorts of horror stories.

I'm a fan of light weight but have avoided those so far.

I have worked out that I could get my Canyon CF Evo down to 5.4kg without changing wheels, but some of the parts needed have to be made to order and that's like 6 month process according to what I've seen, and thousands of euros. So won’t bother with that. :(

A lot of seat post out and quite a few spacers under the stem. Looks like you could go a larger frame if you wished?
A touch heavier though I guess.

that's a 58
the stack is slightly lower than on the sl6 tarmac hence the extra spacer

Geez. I wonder what a similar build weight would be on a 54 for a midget like me!

You are quite tall then.
It obviously works for you. ;)
I am older and getting less flexible so have gone a slightly larger size than I normally would have.
Both the Revolt and Reacto are 575 ett. 130mm -17 stem on the Revolt and 120mm -6 on the Reacto.
Could have gone smaller but would need a stupidly long stem on the Revolt.

Maybe 200gr less?

Ridiculously light and very UCI illegal. The really light bikes are great for riding on the really steep hills, they just fly up them.

I suppose it's a combination of very light overall weight and the very light wheels.

At my size I can also ride a 56cm bike and have done a few times but it feels a bit big. On the flip side the 54cm frames with a setup for smaller rider I cannot ride at all - not without great difficulty.

Bike and rider in my specific case only weigh a combined 63kg (!). I can easily be blown several metres right — and I think that is caused by the brake rotors.

Side wind buffeting is a serious menace; when that happens, I stop to re-jig my route to make it a tailwind!

I guess perhaps weight is an issue.
I am mid 70s kg
Raced on 85mm deep singles in Mildura. Some serious gusting side winds there. Meh, so much faster you get used to it. Only the gravel bike has shallow rims now. Road is nothing under 50mm as they are free speed. Needed now as the legs supply less of it than they used to.

The winds push me about badly too - I'm also very light. I know all the tricks to try and limit the effects of it, but it's useless when it is gusty and coming down steep gradients. When I'm on a regular bike (non aero) I don't notice it at all.

It was very bad here (D2204): https://maps.app.goo.gl/s5ZHHn9yEfEPybCA9

So I avoid the deeper wheels. The lower profile ones give me more benefit.

Edit: Just happened to see this: https://www.reddit.com/r/longboarding/c ... is_mighty/

Myself and the bike currently weigh around 68kg combined, I thought that was light!

I'm running 45mm depth carbon wheels and only really noticed the wind buffeting the first couple of days out. I think my brain just accommodates for it now. Though I did have one day on a particularly fast (60km/hr+) descent into a slight crosswind from the left that changed to a slight crosswind from the right due to a gentle turn in the road. That spat me about a metre to the left without any warning, somehow managed to hold onto the bars.

Anyway. Time for more bike pictures! While I look at 105 Di2 Aethos on runout specials and my spreadsheet with part weights and prices. Need to get that bike fit first though.
