Skywagen (Nissan Bicycle co) 10 speed racer
Postby phila » Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:04 am
Hello,
just looking for some help ... does anyone have a mid to late 1970s Skywagen. Made by the Nissan Bicycle Co. Ive recently restored my one after it had been sitting in the shed for 30 plus years ... over its life it had had several paintjobs but ive gone back to as close to the original green as i could find ... im looking to get some good pics of the original decals so i can get them made to then put on the bike. Any help greatly appreciated.

I had one of them, can't remember much but the writing was cursive on the front of the bike, possibly on the downbar too.
There must be some pics online.

Hi Phil, yes I have a skywagon. I rescued it from a hard rubbish collection in 2009, it was a bit of a state but i restored it as a fixed wheel/freewheel flip flop. I did I respray the frame however, I masked the head badge and crest on the downtube, its still with me now although I’m in the UK. I was thinking of returning it to original or near as state hence my google searching and the discovery of your post. If you reply to this I’ll send images of the badge and crest. Regards Robbo08

@phila You'll never believe it but I just found one of these on the side of the road, was curious to know more about so Googled it and came across your post. I now it's a couple of years late but hey ho lol
If you still want pics, let me know and I'll send some through. It's a bit rusty but you should be able to get the jist of it.

Hi @kaptaink i just saw your post. Also a late reply. I also just got my hands on one as a project to add to my original one. It has decals but i think they are fairly worn. If you get this reply and are happy to send pics let me know and i can send you my email address. @phila

That top one looks very familiar, I had one just that colour. Can't remember what happened to it, probably stolen.

Yes your picture is accessible. As far as I'm aware there's no way to hotlink to iCloud photosphila wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 9:06 pmI cant get the pic to show in the post but i can get a URL into the post. Please let me know if you can see the pic from the URL and i will add some more links

Nice colour, don't remember seeing that. Looks very original. Centre pull brakes, what they used to call half mudguards which were useless! Derailleur was Suntour Honour from memory and that looks like it.
Needs a bit of a clean up though.
