Hi all, I have a Malvern Star Mamba 2007 which I upgraded to slick road tyres, has anyone else owned a Mamba? Also it appears that the Malvern Star Oppy A1 was changed in design from the 2011-2012 model year to a more classic design for the 2013 model year onwards. Is the riding experience/specification level of the Oppy A1 similar to the Pedal Pursuit or Pursuit 2.0 or the Repco Superlite if anyone has tried these different bikes? Thanks

My mate has one. Its not for sale.
We took it to a show and shine in Sydney last year.

Recently acquired two Malvern Star bicycles in very good condition. One is a brown Touristar with 5 speed durallier gears and on the underside is stamped a serial No M3B08967.

The other is a red think a roadster model with Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub gears. Has a serial number sticker on the underside S136019. Some of the numbers on the sticker are a bit indistinct.

Is it possible to identify the age of these two bicycles by the serial numbers ?

The serial numbers look like Asian suppliers.

M3B08967 is either 1973 or 1983 - see if the components help with which year.

S136019 - not sure, on a sticker you say? Anything stamped anywhere?

Thanks for the replies so far, will see about getting a photo sharing account and put some photos up.

Think both the cycles are Asian more likely Japanese and badged with Malvern Star stickers. They have mostly Japanese componentary.
