I am 55 so grew up with older bikes. Sure it is nice to reminisce and yes they can be nice to look at.
Give me something newer to ride though.
Plenty of time on trainers watching the frame flex on older smaller tube diameter bicycle frames.
Give me more gears, a more rigid bottom bracket so it jumps when I jump, more gears and better brakes, better wheels, bigger tyres.

Dunno, perhaps those disinterested just prefer newer gear.

Hey Marc, I’m racing a few different vintage bikes in both southern cross cycle club and Waratahs criterium races with occasional success. Southern cross race at Waratah park , Sutherland every Sunday morning at 8am. They are not averse to the idea of running a vintage (non carbon), class if enough riders show genuine interest. And of course, anyone with a race licence is welcome to compete on any criterium track worthy cycle regardless of age.. Hopefully see you there.
