Ok, thanks. I’m selecting the photo in Flickr, pressing copy url, opening this forum, clicking paste.
All that’s being displayed here is the url as a live link . How do I get the photo to appear in the message body , without all the other Flickr information that’s being copied?
Thanks again

Hi again, this is what happens when I attempt to post a photo using the above described technique from my Flickr account..
I shave also attempted highlighting the link and clicking “code” as described in other “ how to post images” sections of the forum… Nothing seems to work as it should. Ps( not whining , very appreciative the site and forums exist and totally appreciative of the unpaid hours administering a site like this must take. Thanks)
You need to press on the share and copy the BBcode
edit not meaning to reaveal your name.

I’m wondering if the issue is that I’m using the Flickr app for a smart phone rather than a computer.. some of the Flickr functionality seems to be missing in the app. The only url address I can get from the app for these photos is this. https://flic.kr/p/2oVLAsZ and making any changes to it makes it fail.
Sorry for being dumb and thanks for all your assistance.

If I click 'Share Photo' and BBcode and copy, then I get this
That would work and looks like this
IMG_1219 by Guzzi Racer, on Flickr
But you can also then strip it and grab just this bit...
This removes the link to flickr and the stuff underneath and looks like this
----
From my side, sorry it is a but of a pain. I have sunk many weeks of work trying to the forum software adapted to allow uploading and an easier process. A flip-side however is copyright and a grey zone when a member (in good faith) uploads an images that they don't have the rights to... with this approach, as the side is not hosting images, that helps.
Code: Select all
