That applies to GP4k. They were huge.
Not so much with GP5k

Interesting. I never tried the 5000. Still burning up my leftover gp4000. On the last set now. Probably got another 4-5 k to go I reckon.

What I have found which should be of no surprise. If you ran conti 25's you can run Vittoria corsa in 28. If they are any bigger it's only 1mm.

Yeah Conti's 23's = 25mm 25's = 27mm 28's= well I never bothered after finding they wouldn't fit in me rear and to close to the top in the front as well.

So I've always run conti 25's. When I ordered the vittorias I realised I'd actually done a size downgrade. Painful.

When I told others about the difference, they didn't believe me. I tweaked onto it when looking at the clearance in my rear fork and seat tube and thought, there's something wrong here, so I got my verniers out and presto. I could never understand why the 23's were so close to the seat tube and when I went to 25's I had about 2mm clearance.

Replaced a worn GP4000 25c with a new GP5000 28c, and they measure the same width (about 27mm) on my 16.5mm internal width rims. If anything the GP4000 is maybe 0.5mm wider (according to my highly accurate adjustable spanner with mm markings

I have read on several forums that the 5000"s are more accurate with the width stated.

Ok, I think I'll stick with the Schwalbe Pro 1s for now.

1137km on the current rear, still good grip and no signs of canvas showing through yet. That's pretty much a record for me.

Tubed or tubeless?
I haven't tried their tubeless goers yet.

Just the tubed version. Though I cursed myself by singing their praises yesterday - noticed a bit of weird handling today and when I got home saw all the wear markers were gone and there was canvas showing through in one spot.

Still - 1191km on the back, with another 2000km on the front for that tyre. Still pretty good for me.

Will be going tubeless on the gravel bike and see how it goes. It worries me a bit for the road bike because the tyres are more expensive and harder (and messier) to change. Unless I'll get more than six weeks out of a tyre that sounds a bit painful.

Yes road tubeless are ridiculously overpriced.

Gravel tubeless appears much more reasonably priced.
I don't know why.

I ride with a few on gravel here. Everybody is tubeless.
Despite that there are still a few punctures.
It is much harder on tyres than the road ime.

I just noticed this deep flap of rubber on my <1000km new rear GP5000 Who knows if it happened on this morning's commute or previously and I just didn't notice it.....

Is it worth trying to superglue it down and hope for the best?

Yes rear, and as it turns out I did have some Shoe Goo. So far it's held up so fingers crossed. I'm checking it regularly and won't assume it'll last forever.
