Sounds like a good outcome in the end, except the colour.trailgumby wrote: ↑Wed Jun 22, 2022 9:20 amUpdate: they will be arranging to ship me a new complete bike and pick up the damaged one. Unfortunately no new stock in the metalflake red on the horizon.
What is pleasing to see is that it got resolved pretty quick and seemingly easy.
What's the ETA ?

I'd imagine a week or two. I'll take some photos today and then start packing the bike so it's ready for them to pick up on whatever schedule they require to get the new one in my hands.

They are arranging a courier to collect the damaged bike sans wheels on Monday, and shipping the replacement in blue on the same day.

The question is then, where do I get a replacement in my size? The single locally available 58 was $2.5k more, with 12sp SRAM AXS rather than Shimano Ultegra 11sp, (importantly) not the HiMod frame, not that colourway anyway, and I've probably missed out on that one, as it was the only one coming in and that was over 4 weeks ago now.
Size 58s seem to be especially scarce, and the new model year has different colourways again, and still not nearly as classy as that candy red.
No good options I'm afraid. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
At least I've got a bike coming that looks OK, will be a bit different, and works with my existing power meter. In the meantime I can save my pennies for Ultegra 12s when prices stop being so stupid. ◑﹏◐

I’m sure the first ride will make you forget most of the issues …

Damaged unit has gone back to them, picked up last Monday. The replacement was supposed to ship from Milan same day but will allegedly depart on Monday.
In the meantime I have been shopping for hubs to build up a nice aero wheelset.

Unfortunately, they don't do 20H front hubs, so I have gone with the Spanish brand Progress.
Front: https://en.progresscycles.com/hubs/nitr ... lock-front
Rear: https://en.progresscycles.com/hubs/vekt ... -lock-rear
Would have preferred to buy the Nitro hub for the rear but no stock of 24H for at least a month and there was an error with the shipping charge to Australia direct from Progress so I had to make do with what's available in stock from BikeInn. I could have bought the 20H rear Nitro hub, but both my intended rim supplier and weightweenies advised against it.

As gravel bikes get better and better over time, I can see a lot of riders doing this (myself included!)

I have that exact bike and have done the same. Have some light bicycle WR50 carbon wheels with road tyres.Mububban wrote: ↑Tue Jul 19, 2022 11:13 amA workmate who was a serious roadie and has now moved into gravel bought a carbon Giant Revolt (Advanced 2 I think) and with a set of 50mm carbon wheels for the road, he's now got his "one bike to do it all." Fast enough on the road, acceptable weight, and he can switch wheels and hammer some gravel too.

It is not bad but is still 1-2 kmh slower than my old TCR roadie when ridden alone.
I have gotten some DT Swiss GR1600 wheels for the gravel as the standard wheels were rubbish.
That is my plan when we travel. 2 sets of wheels one bike.
I'll keep the roadie for fast bunchies but I am doing so much less road riding.
You don't realise how negatively motor vehicle traffic affects your ride until it is no longer there.

Stuck in Singapore. I had an argument with Fedex over duties, which I won. Due in the next few days now.
Edit: Landed and is now at Matraville centre as of 8pm. Tomorrow? (●'◡'●)

7.7kg sans pedals, power meter, lights and bottle cages vs. 8.1kg on the same basis, with the same wheels.
I've checked. All the bolts are in the right places. I confused. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Coming. Recommended image hosting?
PS, would people recommend protective film for a roadie? It's assumed you will do it in the MTB scene, not sure if folks bother with it for road.
