It's starting this weekend/Friday (?) and is usually a traditional leadup to Le Tour

It's getting harder to find a decent site with the details that isn't behind a paywall (now with Steephill.tv looking like it won't continue), but above is a link that is OK, and below is an overall route.

Not a super big-climb heavy route, but still quite lumpy



Stage 7 will be interesting as it starts at the foot of Col du Galibier



And Stage 8 features a summit finish on Plateau de Solaison (11.3km at 9.2%)

It will be based on his results at Dauphine and also the Mt Ventoux challenge.

I think he's a real longshot, but then again, so of the other Israel riders are not really performing all that well ....

Sheesh ... Imagine that ... DS says "you just need to go ok up Ventoux and you are in the squad". A brutal climb where even a gun climber can have an off day and suffer big time.

He's gotta get through the Dauphine well also, but so far so good.

Finished in the bunch yet again, opening stages have had almost 3,000m of climbing each, albeit fairly gentle and only enough pace to dislodge the typical sprinters.

And those on Froome watch, still doing OK, but lost 31 sec in Stage 3 finish.

Great result by Ben to get final step on podium and last couple of stages by Chavez was great too !!

Agree!! I'm not sure Ben has the climbing punch of some of the opposition (Pog/Rog and now Vin), but he has some real grit to give the most he has and put himself in the hurt. He did not go with the final accelerations, but other than the acceleration for a minute, he kept at it and matched the pace of the leaders after the attack to limit the losses. If he can keep doing that through 3 weeks, he could still do very well. Rog can start to show some cracks after a tough middle week of a GT. Pog less so.

It was great to see Chavez showing some form we have not seen in a while. I hope to see some of his contagious smiles in a post stage interview soon!

Rog continues to impress and is a role model in sportsmanship. Always respectful of his opposition and those in his team. They seem to have some good team culture going on at TJV and are all willing to sacrifice it all for the team.
