Monton

Postby foo on patrol » Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:33 am

I ordered some bibs on Saturday and received then Tuesday morning with a handwritten note on the invoice saying..........Thank you for buying from an Australian Company online and included is a pair of Holiday Socks also.

The knicks are comfy and nice fitting the socks appear to be very high quality, with one of my mates saying they are excellent quality and feel for riding. 8)

I got vegemite sachels from bikebagdude.

Laughed at it, accidently left one in, then broke it out on a long ride. Well played!

Great service. I think they are in Brisbane. Out of interest where are they made?

They are made in China, but there is an Aussie distributor. The range is reduced (compared to home site).

I've reviewed some of their gear and found it pretty good. Jerseys are, as expected, smaller than other sizes (need to size up) and the pick of their gear.

The Monton size charts suggests the biggest jersey size tops out at a 110cm chest, which counts out a lot of Australian males

I have no experience with Monton, but they make the club kit for the Brisbane Cycling Club so I see a bit of it around. They all seem happy with it...

Good question?

I got XXL and the fit is nice, my order was for XXXL but they came in XXL I think. :? Oh I just checked my old orders and they were Urban Suupaa Blue.

I will confirm, when I get back home on Thursday.

Just had a look and they are 3Xl but at 104kg and getting lighter. They are on the edge for needing to drop a size for me now, so if you don't have a gut, I think a 2XL would be at the top end of being tight.

Thanks Foo, (AT) 98kg I might look at the XXL, with a bit of luck they won't
be overly RACE fit....

I've been ordering from Monton the past few months, have accumulated 2 pairs of bib shorts, long sleeve jersey, cap & gilet. Each time I've ordered, they've thrown in a pair of socks or gloves, as well as the handwritten note.

Although the products are all of great quality & price is very good compared to other brands, it's the service I remember & will keep me going back.

As a side, I notice they have a whole bunch of bib shorts in different colours now as well.

I bought a pair of gloves, a long sleeve jersey and a full length bib tights directly from China which only cost me 100 bucks (excluding post), good value and excellent quality.
