Initially asked one local if they could crimp a ti chainstay for more tyre width clearance. (Had read of a small number in the US doing this, but it can be risky). Recently came across this more ideal 'potato-chip' method.
Wondering if anyone here would know of a builder in Oz who is experienced with ti, and could do this?

If I owned a titanium frame I wouldn't be doing that to it.
Check Prova, Baum, Auren, Curve, Rivet and Bossi.

I had a ti frame with an original crimped chainstay.
It broke. Right at the crimp.
Good luck!

Only a chimp would crimp
The spud could be a dud
The Pringle could end up like Rip van Winkel
The chip could end up in a crypt
The mod job could go to the dogs

If you're on Facebook look up Ewen Gellie, an engineer and frame builder. He provides a very good summary of why this is not a good idea

I would rather run a narrower tyre than do that.
