That’s why you stick with the known reputable brands because they have solid warranties.foo on patrol wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 11:54 amI still can't find anything about warranty for the frame.

Even if it had warranty, just like calf length compression socks, I couldn’t ride a bike named boldly “TWITTER” regardless of the value !!foo on patrol wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 12:03 pmI've used Ali for Track bars and there was warranty on them but when I see the nothing about warranty, I'm a little cautious.

Without them having a brand reputation to protect I am not sure there is much potential repercussion for them, in terms of further sales, from an individual users bad experience.

P.S. You know if you want a 'Warranty', it is just an Insurance policy you will pay for included in the Retail price. Manufacturers Warranty under Australia consumer law requires a Seller to replace goods which were not Fit for Purpose. Then there is the issue of making a claim against a LBS and justifying you haven't mistreated the bike frame or whatever??? Internet returns and reaccredits do not mean the unsuitable product goes back to Asia to the manufacturer. It simply is destroyed or sold by bulk sales through a local warehouse system and ends up at your markets or some third world country as US surplus are sold in Australia.
Saw a Winspace Aero bike yesterday. I've been looking at the Winspace Cycles (Xiamen), available in Sydney and 3 year warranty.

Absolutely. I’ve got enough bikes and I’m not getting anything called Twitter even if someone paid me!warthog1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 1:26 pmYepMichaelB wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 12:43 pmEven if it had warranty, just like calf length compression socks, I couldn’t ride a bike named boldly “TWITTER” regardless of the value !!foo on patrol wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 12:03 pmI've used Ali for Track bars and there was warranty on them but when I see the nothing about warranty, I'm a little cautious.

That's the one. Just needs the optional zero-setback seatpost, to suit my fitting quirks, and it will be about perfect. Of course, getting said seatpost is far from straightforward in current times

I can certainly say it’s a good bike, a few people I ride with have them. They are damn nice bikes. SRAM Force E-Tap seems to work well. The other one is Ultegra Di2.trailgumby wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 4:42 pmThat's the one. Just needs the optional zero-setback seatpost, to suit my fitting quirks, and it will be about perfect. All bikes seem to be difficult to get now unless what you want is off the shelf and already there. The S5D I have was already built and luckily the fit transferred across near perfectly. It’s only a little lower on the front, meaning I have to do my stretches to keep flexible.
I’m fortunate to have those two beautiful bikes.
On the topic of warranty my LBS never has any queries on how I treat my bikes, they know I’m as fussy as the owner of the shop. I trust that shop and especially the workshop. The mechanic is really exceptional and such a nice person as well.

Looks good, I don't get people complaining about the price... Yes it's expensive but it's a similar price to an SWorks Tarmac and it's a custom bike made in the US. If anything, it exposes how ridiculous Specialized and Trek pricing has become.g-boaf wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:58 pmEnve’s new custom bike:

Pretty much. For basically mass market produced frames it's quite the premium. Isn't the s-works more or less the same as the non-sworks roubaix?
This would be my pick, go tover the bossi Strada SS lol

Would go carbon fork still though.

And Pinarello, Cippolini etc, etc
There are many that are just crazy prices.
And yep, the Llewellyn frame I'm getting isn't cheap either, but the level of individual workmanship and detail is mind boggling, compared to a high volume production unit.
Mind you, you can say that about any component on a bike ....

A frame you’ll still be riding in three decades.
There’s always some knob.,.AndrewCowley wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 2:38 pmYou'll find that some knob like that Hambini guy will still flame it to death for not being perfect.

Better to take notice of the people who do 20,000km+ per year on their bikes and what experiences they have with their bikes and the components on them rather than some obnoxious loud-mouth who can't put together sentences without using fifty expletives.AndrewCowley wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 2:38 pm
But really what does that buy you?
You'll find that some knob like that Hambini guy will still flame it to death for not being perfect.
The people who do the huge mileage on their bikes are the ones who will uncover the glitches/problems if they are going to occur.

I’ll bite, seeing this was just me.
S-Works are Specialize’s top model, in either the Tarmac, Roubaix or the now defunct Venge. Or the new Aethos. An S-Works Tarmac will have the same geometry as a non s-works tarmac, so they are basically the same frame.
Except they use different carbon (lighter, stronger, more expensive) to make an S-Works than a non s-works.
They also spec the S-Works out with better quality components. Stem, bar, seat post, saddle, wheel set.
For many, cycling is just like any other hobby or collectables.
I have a colleague who likes Louis Vuitton handbags. At $4k to $5k a handbag, that’s an expensive piece of excesserising. And when LV has four or five bags in one line or series, that’s a very expensive hobby if you have to have them all.
As my colleague says, if you can afford it, who cares how you spend your money.
There’s a guy on FB who has every model of the S-Works tarmac, from the first to the latest model. All with very nice paint jobs. It’s a nice collection.

If you have a look at his page, you’ll see the level of effort, experience and pride that goes into EVERY bike that makes each one unique.
I value that waaaaay more than marketing BS or a gram here or there.
And as for internet turds like Hambini, Durian rider and the line, who gives a rats.
But, if they matter to you, and the latest S-Works is your cup of tea, great.
If you swear by eTap over Di2, rim over disc, etc, etc, great.
I know what I consider value vs hype, in my world & experience.

Eric Hendren, gave him his start and taught him the craft of the old way, so that he got the basics for becoming a "Master" Bike Frame Builder and wheel builder also.
What person in their right mind, would listen or take notice of anything, that that w.anker Durianrider said??

We can't compare a handbuilt piece like a Llewellyn to mass-produced stuff like Specialized/Trek etc, it's just unfair.
The finish and quality will be worlds apart, aside from the custom fit consideration. From that perspective the Llewellyn is worth every cent of the purchase price.
