Just saw the new Giant STP 26”. It's definitely not cheap at $1500, but is it "the great all-rounder" for 9-14 year olds (145-165cm size guide)? It's billed as a dirt jumper but it’s got 1x10 with easy climbing gears (30T and 11-46), 120mm air fork with remote lockout, 2.4” tyres. 67 degree head tube angle, 73.5 seat tube angle.
There are also 20” and 24” versions with coil forks.

I have 2 of these from, as the kids say, the olden days.
1 is a 2005 STP Zero which is a weird olive green and the other is the 2008 STP Zero in this Baby Blue with White fork colour combo.
My bro in law even raced one a few times for events down in Lysterfield over the years.
Still ride them, wife rides the blue one, and will do so until my new Fastroad arrives.
If you have kids that are rough on their bikes these would be perfect.
