Does anyone know if one of the sections of veloway 1 state E is open?
This is the section around gaza road and berwood road making the bridges. Apparently one of the two stages was meant to be completed by start of 2019?

Hi myforwik,
Nope, still very much in the construction phase. But if you want to ride through there, the existing bikeway is still there - there's just a bunch of cross streets breaking it up so its a slower journey...

The signs around say mid 2020. There has been a lot of progress though.
It’s a really sketchy area with the “bike path” crossing slip lanes, freeway entrances and two busy intersections. Can’t be built soon enough.

An absolutely essential piece of infrastructure, but the most common comments I hear from locals are concerns about it being over-engineered.
It certainly is substantial.

Well it's state government (TMR) infrastructure so that may be why. Can't imagine Brisbane City Council building something so robust.

Is the Veloway meant to be going all the way to the Gold Coast? I thought I read that somewhere, but I may have been reading it wrong. Or is it a "It goes all the way to the Gold Coast.........just on roads"

I think that’s a long term plan, but will probably always include on-road cycle lanes. The M1 extension through Logan will extend the Veloway quite a bit further.

I guess Stage E is now open?
I saw something saying it was 'finished' 22nd June?
