Is it safe to ride M7 bike path alone at night

Postby Globallywater » Mon Sep 10, 2018 6:40 pm

Hello all

As the topic asks, is it safe to ride the m7 bike path alone at night?

I am only new to riding again and not very fit so can’t exactly turn and run so to speak. Or do many people ride it at night?

Yeah, there are a lot of people out there. Just use some lights, it'll be fine.

It's lit so pretty good.
Lighting does suffer outages so do have a light equipped and front and rear "see me" lights.
Most of it is so far away from anything that nobody uses it as a drunk route or hangout so it's only cyclists and fitness walkers.

I'm on it 7 to 8ish weeknights and there are still lots of bikes.
Only seen potential hoodlums once where I was a little cautious that the might be idiots who could jump or push, but that's stretching to find an example.
Nothing is completely safe, but I would rate it about as good as it gets.
If there was going to be a creep it would probably be in the day targeting walkers not bikes.
