Hi all,
I've purchased my first (2nd hand) folding recumbent and I'm excited and nervous all at once.
Yes - I've a congenital hip issue and epilepsy (hence username) but that's *not* the reason I chose a recumbent. I'd been rising an upright/cargo trike which is functional and nothing wrong with it as such, but very heavy and steering isn't great etc. I wanted to have way more fun while I was getting fit - so a recumbent it was!
True, I have never ridden a 'normal' bicycle, not even as a child. I hate gyms and used to be a runner but hip has halted that for the time being - I thought why shouldn't I find something I really enjoy to keep me fit?
I haven't taken it on a decent ride yet and I'm sticking to cycle paths along the river for the time being - I imagine that having a seizure on the road would take all my focus away from the traffic conditions.
Long term goal would be to end up commuting to work and taking it on some tracks one day. Going to enjoy cruising around on it for the time being but later on get it nicely kitted up.
So if you see a clumsy looking chick on a bent SOR, that'll be me.

great to see wobbly-nerd. My wife and I enjoy our recumbent trikes. On our last outing together we got lots of "that's so cool" comments.
Hope you enjoy your new toy and if you have questions there are lots of people here who will be happy to help.
